It was yet another fiery London derby at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur locked horns for the first time in 2022/23 and there was drama aplenty.

Thomas Tuchel’s side went 1-0 ahead in the first half when Kalidou Koulibaly expertly volleyed home Marc Cucurella’s corner.

It was a superb finish from the giant Senegalese defender, one worthy of Harry Kane or Heung-min Son.

Chelsea really were magnificent in the first half and could have extended their advantage on numerous occasions.

But in the 69th minute of proceedings in west London, Spurs struck back in controversial fashion through midfield general Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Just 41 seconds after a foul on Kai Havertz by Rodrigo Bentancur was amazingly not given by the officials, the Switzerland international fired home from the edge of the box.

Antonio Conte was absolutely thrilled with the equaliser and in the heat of the moment, he celebrated right in Tuchel’s face by the dugouts.

The two managers had to be separated by their members of staff…

Absolute scenes in west London!

Unsurprisingly, both Conte and Tuchel were booked by the officials after things calmed down a tad.

Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports commentary said: People say we don’t want to see scenes like that but I love it, I want more of it.”

We feel you, Jamie.

Tuchel then got sweet revenge on Conte around 10 minutes later when Reece James put Chelsea back in front with a tidy finish from close-range.

The German did his best Jose Mourinho impression and charged down the touchline while fist pumping like a bit of a maniac.

Fair play, Thomas.

But the Chelsea boss was made to pay for his overzealous celebrations in the final minute of stoppage-time when Kane grabbed a dramatic late equaliser.

Spurs’ talisman nodded home from a corner to send the away fans inside Stamford Bridge wild, taking his goal tally for the club to 249 in the process.

What a game it was and things kicked off on the touchline once again when the full-time whistle was blown, with both Conte and Tuchel shown red cards.
