She was born in San Diego, California, and grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, alongside her twin sister, Brie Garcia, and their brother, JJ Garcia.

Nikki Garcia entered professional wrestling after initially pursuing soccer and modeling.
She and her twin sister Brie were signed to WWE’s developmental system in 2007 before making their main-roster debut in 2008 as The Bella Twins.

Nikki won her first WWE Divas Championship in 2012 and captured the title for a second time in 2014.
