Chelsea preparing £70m Fofana bid
football.london understands Chelsea are set to submit an improved offer for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana. The Blues had an initial offer of £63million rejected by the Foxes earlier this week, but are now preparing a new bid in the region of £70million.
The 21-year-old’s contract at the King Power Stadium runs until 2027 and Leicester are said to be hoping for a fee of around £80million for the talented centre-back. Fofana missed a large period of the 2021/22 season after suffering a serious knee injury last summer.
football.london understands Chelsea have agreed a £52million deal to sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton, despite the Seagulls denying a move has been sanctioned.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old is in London completing a medical ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge. Cucurella would become the Blues fifth signing if the deal is completed with complications, following Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka to west London.
Boehly wants Ronaldo
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is ‘desperate’ to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge, according to journalist Simon Phillips, via GiveMeSport.
Phillips told GIVEMESPORT: “I was told that Boehly really wants to sign Ronaldo, but up until now, Tuchel has said that he doesn’t want him in at the moment, although I think that’s subject to change.
“Tuchel has been very adamant that he wants more attackers, he was very annoyed after the Arsenal game and expressed his desire to change his attackers.”
football.london understands Ronaldo was touted to join Chelsea after Boehly held a meeting with the Portuguese superstar’s agent Jorge Mendes, but Thomas Tuchel decided against pursuing a deal for the 37-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
