Chelsea could hand Kalidou Koulibaly his debut as Raheem Sterling gets a first start for his new club in tonight’s pre-season friendly against Arsenal in Orlando.
The centre-back did not feature in the loss to Charlotte on Thursday having only recently joined, but has trained with his new team-mates and, with the new Premier League season just two weeks away, should get his first minutes.
Sterling had a quiet debut in the week so will be looking for more time to gel in Florida, against an opponent he knows very well. He should come into the starting lineup alongside Kai Havertz.
Conor Gallagher will want another chance to impress Thomas Tuchel after struggling a few days ago, while Ethan Ampadu is another who can stake a claim.
Timo Werner is not expected to be involved due to a hamstring injury, the same niggle also affecting Ross Barkley.
Cesar Azpilicueta was in talks to join Barcelona – a move that is now in doubt – so chould be back on the bench.
Chelsea predicted starting XI: Mendy; Chalobah, Silva, Koulibaly; James, Jorginho, Kovasic, Chilwell; Pulisic, Havertz, Sterling
