Arsenal midfielder, Granit Xhaka, could be on his way to Newcastle after the Magpies expressed interest in signing him on loan in January, the UK Telegraph reports.
Xhaka is expected to leave the Emirates next year and Newcastle will offer him a chance to stay in the Premier League.
AC Milan are also keen on the Switzerland captain, but Steve Bruce is confident that the player would be open to moving to St James Park.
Xhaka has not played for the Gunners since he was stripped of the captaincy, for clashing with fans during their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
The 27-year-old is eager to leave, as he is worried about playing time under Unai Emery, ahead of next summer’s European Championships
