Chelsea is now preparing for their next League match, which will be against Leeds United. It is the Blues’ third game of the new season and having lost two important points against Tottenham, expectations of them winning are high.
Thomas Tuchel made some adjustments before the Tottenham match, and it was satisfactory watching Chelsea play despite the few numbers of goals scored.
But against a defensive side, like Leeds, the Blues coach would need to do some modifications to his squad in terms of introducing new midfielders and attackers to the starting eleven. So below are two midfielders and one attacker that the Blues coach should drop as prepares for the upcoming match.
1. Jorginho
Jorginho has been a regular starter this season, but his performance has not been too reliable. He has also made some costly errors that have led to goals, and many of his passes have been poor. Because of that, the vice-captain should be dropped and replaced by Mateo Kovacic in the starting 11 against Leeds.
2. Kante
N’golo Kante should also be dropped in the coming game. The midfielder appeared not to be himself in the last match as he made few tackles and failed to mark Højbjerg properly. Tuchel can use Gallager in his place as the latter has also impressed in the few minutes he has featured.
3. Mason Mount
Mount is also among the midfield players that should be dropped ahead of Chelsea’s encounter against Leeds United. He plays in an attacking position but has squandered a lot of scoring chances. No goal assist has also come from him.
Ziyech has not started for the team this season as he also plays in Mount’s position, so he should also be considered for the role.
