Manchester United have reportedly all but ended their pursuit of Ajax ace Antony.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth says a move is currently off unless the Dutch club lower their asking price. Ajax are believed to be asking for upwards of £80million for their star right winger, after it emerged earlier this summer that he could be sold for significantly less.
Erik ten Hag may now begin to focus on his pursuit of RB Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko. The Manchester Evening News reported last month that John Murtough had met with the youngster’s agent and the club are weighing up a move.
Elsewhere, Fulham have reportedly tabled an offer for United defender Eric Bailly. Football Insider claim the Cottagers are keen on the centre-back who enjoyed a fruitful pre-season with United this summer. Sevilla and Roma are also interested in his signature.
Ten Hag is looking to offload some of the centre-backs currently on United’s books. The addition of Lisandro Martinez coupled with an already stacked centre-back department means the likes of Bailly, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe have all been deemed surplus to requirements.
