The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi,The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and other religious and traditional leaders have called for prayers to end COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
They have scheduled a national intercession for Monday, April 6, by noon.In a statement yesterday, the grand patron of Legacy Initiative International Advocacy (LIIA), Mr. Kenny Martins, emphasised the need to commit the current happenings in the world into the hands of God through a national day of prayers.
His stated,
“Nigeria and the rest of the world, in the last three months, have been bedevilled by the coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19, which has become pandemic in proportion and killed thousands of people all over the world.
“Legacy Initiative International Advocacy has been in consultation all week with the traditional and religious leaders and their colleagues from other parts of the country on the need to commit what is happening in the world today to God through a national day of prayer, and each of these leaders have given his support for the prayers.
“In the light of the foregoing, Monday, April 6, has been declared National Day of Prayer. Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora have been urged to go on their knees for 10 minutes at this precise hour by stopping everything we are doing, anywhere we are to pray for God’s grace and intervention in this ravaging coronavirus pandemic.”
