Burna Boy never ceases to wow his audience with new music that is just right for all the outdoor activities summer brings. The Nigerian superstar released his newest single, “Big 7,” on Friday (July 28). The song comes accompanied with a music video in which he can be seen performing on the streets of New York City.
The recently published video, which was directed by the iconic director Benny Boom, is a tribute to the culture of New York City. Scenes include views of OGs relaxing on their individual stoops, people hanging out at basketball courts, and the group dropping by a pizza shop at the end of the day to wrap off their day.
In the first bar of the song, Burna makes it a point to acknowledge one of his favorite deceased style heroes, and he does so in his rap. “First and foremost, may Virgil Abloh rest in peace. Don’t spill any drink on my clothes when I’m Louis V drippin’. Don’t like stress in my dome. Straight to the head when I’m sippin’ on 1942. As he sings, “Been wavy since mornin’, no dey talk to me in public.”
