Early Life & Education
Austin was born and raised in Anaheim, California, to Aesthetician Lori Anee and David Butler. His parents separated when he was seven years old. He was raised with his older sister, actress Ashley.
He began performing when he was 13 years old. He met acting management for the first time at the Orange County Fair, which helped him get his start in the entertainment world.
Soon, she discovered that it was fun and exciting. He began taking acting classes to improve his skills further.

Austin was cast in The CW’s Sex and the City prequel series The Carries Diaries and played Sebastian Kydd, a brooding heartthrob attending the same high school as Carrie Bradshaw, played by Anna Sophia Robb in 2012.
He began playing the role of Wil Ohmsford in The Shannara Chronicles. The series was canceled after two seasons.
