Nigerian singer, Skales has disclosed in a recent interview that he level Banky W’s record label penniless.
Singer Skales, whose real name is Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, has disclosed how his life changed quickly after leaving Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
Skales revealed this in a recent interview with Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, where he claimed that after EME failed to renew his recording contract, he decided to become homeless and sleep in his car.
The singer of “Shake Body” claimed that after EME management kicked him out of their apartment, he went from living a life of luxury to being penniless.
Before the success of his song “Shake Body” and the subsequent change in his life, Skales also admitted that he had considered moving abroad.
Even though the singer said he had no money for promotion, the song took off like wildfire.
He said, “When I left EME, I had nothing. Everything just ended in one day. I went from enjoying a luxurious life to sleeping in the car. As soon as my deal ended, I lost the house, they told me to leave the house immediately.
“All I had was one car, a Ford Explorer. And I was sleeping inside the car for a long time. Little did I know that I had a song that was going to change my life on my flash drive. So months later, I just put out the song .
“I didn’t have any promo money, nothing. I just uploaded it on Soundcloud. And it was just a wildfire. It was crazy. I didn’t even know the song was big. I believed, but I gave up because I was trying to japa . Then I got a call from Harry Tee, God rest his soul. That was how my life changed.”
