Barcelona has demand cash plus Chelsea star as part of Aubameyang deal
Chelsea have discussed using Marcos Alonso in a part-exchange deal to sign Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Thomas Tuchel is desperate to bolster his frontline following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, who rejoined Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal earlier this summer.

Aubameyang joined Barcelona in the January transfer window when his Arsenal contract was terminated and he’s scored 11 goals in 13 starts for the Catalans.

But Robert Lewandowski’s arrival has pushed Aubameyang down the pecking order, while Barcelona are desperate to raise some funds to ease their financial problems.

Barcelona are seeking around £21m for Aubameyang, who is open to returning to London.

But Barcelona have also shown vast interest in signing Alonso and the Daily Mail say discussions have taken place between the two sides over a part-exchange deal.

It’s unclear how much Chelsea would value Alonso at in negotiations but he joined the Blues in a £26m deal in 2016 under Antonio Conte.

Alonso is keen on returning to Spain, while Tuchel is keen on working with Aubameyang again after their stint together at Dortmund.

Barcelona are around £1bn in debt but they are the biggest spenders in Europe this summer, signing the likes of Jules Kounde, Raphinha and Lewandowski.

Aubameyang is considered a key player that could raise funds for the side, while Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay could also leave.
