Joseph Morgan (born 05/16/1981), often known as Joseph Martin, is a professional British actor and director who was born in London and raised in Swansea.
He is most known for his role as Klaus Mikelson in the hit TV series “The Vampires Diary” and its spin-off “The Original.”
Early Life & Education

His father, Nick Martin, is a professional painter, and his mother, Sarah Martin, is a stay-at-home mom.
He grew up in Swansea with his parents and brothers, where he spent his early adolescence before returning to London, where he was born, to develop his acting career.
Joseph began his education at Morriston Comprehensive School in Swansea, Wales, and afterwards transferred to Gower College Swansea, formerly Gorseinon College, to pursue a BTEC Performing Arts course.
He returned to London after 11 years in Swansea, where he studied acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Career
He began his acting career in the early 2000s, playing minor roles primarily in television shows. His first cinematic debut was “Eroica” in 2003, however he did not receive enough attention. He appeared in the film “The Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.” Following this, Joseph appeared in a number of films, albeit in lesser roles. He appeared in “Alexander,” an epic historical drama based on “Alexander the Great.”
He played the title role “Ben Hur” a mini-series film on April 4, 2010, which was first aired on CBC Tv in Canada and on ABC Tv in America.
He was portrayed as “Niklaus Mikaelson” in a Tv series titled “Vampire Diaries” which began in late 2009.
The film adaptation of another series known as “The Originals.”
He co-starred with Henry Cavil in the 2011 film ‘Immortals’ as Lysander.
On BuddyTV’s list of the “Sexiest Men of 2011,” he was placed 84th.
The spinoff series ‘The Originals’ of ‘Vampires Dairies’ premiered in 2013 with him acting as ‘Niklaus Mikaelson’.

Personal Life
Joseph is currently married to actress and musician Persia White.
The two met on the set of ‘Vampires Dairies’ season three. Joseph portrayed Niklaus Mikaelson, while White portrayed ‘Abby Bennett Wilson, a witch. On July 5, 2014, they married in Jamaica.
Joseph does not currently have any children with White, but he is the stepfather to Mecca Morgan, Persia White’s daughter.
Joseph has two siblings: Crystal Martin, a girl, and Jack Martin, a boy.
