Has Kalidou Koulibaly just inadvertently revealed a new formation this season for Chelsea?
The new Chelsea defender has been doing his first press conference for the club this afternoon, and he has been taking on all sorts of questions regarding many things, one was about fish and chips in fact, as expected!
However, some of them were much more important, and Koulibaly was questioned about adapting to a new team, manager, and team mates, and one of his responses in this was very interesting.
The former Napoli man says that he needs to adapt to Chelsea’s system, which he describes as a 3-5-2.

Of course, Chelsea played mostly last season in a 3-4-3 variation, using only one real striker. This line up suggests that they will be using two and also using an extra attacking midfielder in a central position.
Blues fans will find these comments very intriguing, because we haven’t actually used this formation in pre-season…
