Kato Lubwama Mivule was a well-known Ugandan entertainer. He was a well-known actor, singer, comedian, dramatist, and former politician. In the 1990s, he rose to prominence as the brains behind the Diamonds Ensemble, a theatre troupe that helped Uganda’s artistic scene take off.
Lubwama moved to radio after his stage achievements, where he built strong working connections with colleagues Patrick Mujuka and Abby Mukiibi Nkaaga on the well-known CBS FM programme Kalisoliso.

Kato Lubwama (Born on August 16, 1970), in Uganda, East Africa. In all of his pursuits, he exuded Leo’s passion and ingenuity. He was very close to his twin brother Isaac Wasswa, who was very important in his life, as well as his sister Nabagala Lubwama.
Education
The value of education in Lubwama’s journey cannot be emphasized. He completed elementary education at Nabagereka Elementary Education in 1993, laying the framework for his future accomplishments.
In 1988, he exhibited his dedication to academics by taking the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exam at Old Kampala Secondary School. Kato Lubwama bravely decided to leave the Democratic Party (DP) amid blazing corruption allegations and run as an independent candidate. In an attempt to disassociate himself from the party’s tarnished reputation, he made a decision that cast him in a new light.
It is critical to emphasize Lubwama’s strong ties to the Democratic Party through the pressure organization Solida, a dedicated group trying to give the party new energy and restore its former splendor. Despite the difficult circumstances, he is loyal to the DP.
Kato Lubwama’s political ambitions, however, have not been without controversy. A legal dispute arose as a result of a disagreement concerning his academic credentials. A steadfast voter from the Lubaga South constituency questioned his academic credentials.
They stated that Kato Lubwama, who is only 22 years old, colluded with Makerere University to enroll in a music and theatre diploma programme that is normally only open to mature students 25 years and older. These allegations raised doubts about Lubwama’s educational background.
Career in Entertainment
Kato Lubwama was a celebrated musician and performer whose songs included Tulye, Tetunakuta, Bank Yebyama, Abantu Bazibu, Akanaku, and Dimitinya. Tetunakuta, which means “We are not yet satisfied,” was his most recent release on September 25, 2020.
Kato Lubwama, a businessman, was the Director of Royal Theatre, Diamonds Ensemble, and Image Africa, all of which are credited with raising the flag of Uganda’s performing industry.
Lubwama would switch to the emerging FM radio medium, expanding his notoriety on CBS FM Kalisoliso programming, as interest in coming to the theatre dwindled in the 2000s.
Lubwama developed a strong alliance with other performers Abby Mukiibi and Patricko Mujjuka as their show competed for Uganda’s most-listened-to morning show. On the show, he was known as Biiso.
Kato Lubwama also founded B24 TV, a local Ugandan television station situated in Rubaga. He also became a prominent personality on YouTube, making regular appearances on Kasuku’s YouTube site as well as other digital platforms, most notably NBS TV’s UnKut.
Career in Politics
As a result of the issue that has dogged Kato Lubwama’s political career, there is no shortage of mystery and intrigue. His now-famous statement, which suggested a self-serving purpose during his first term as Member of Parliament for Rubaga South, raised eyebrows and prompted suspicions about his actual motivations. Despite his ambition to serve a second term, Lubwama faced stiff competition in the 2021 general elections, ultimately losing to a member of the National Unity Platform.
Kato Lubwama made the courageous choice to run as an independent in the face of allegations of corruption inside the Democratic Party (DP).
Nonetheless, he supports the party because he is a member of the Solida pressure group, which works tirelessly to rehabilitate the party’s bad reputation.
A Lubaga South voter, on the other hand, challenged the legality of his credentials in court, stating that he received a music and drama degree at a young age, potentially in violation of enrollment laws. This called into question his academic credentials. Kato Lubwama is undeterred by these incidents and continues to pursue his political and artistic aspirations.
Personal Life
Kato Lubwama was happily married to Ann Namuwonge, with whom he had six children. It’s important to remember that Lubwama has children from prior relationships.
Lubwama enjoys sports, music, and theatre in addition to his employment tasks. He is also interested in fumigation-based pest management and eradication approaches.
Kato Lubwama is very active in homecare and child welfare programmes, particularly in Busega, Ndeeba, and Kabawo. He serves on the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee as a representative of Uganda’s Federation of Performing Artistes.

Cause of Death
Kato Lubwama died of a heart attack on June 7, 2023. Andrew Mukasa, an associate and promoter known as Bajjo Events, was the first to inform the public that Lubwama had died.
Kato Lubwama has held several posts over his career. He has been the director of the Royal Theatre since 2010, demonstrating his talent as a stage actor. He has also been in charge of Diamonds Ensemble since 1994 and Image Africa since 1999.
In 2016, he was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Rubaga South Constituency. Lubwama, in addition to his artistic endeavours, owns and controls a variety of businesses, one of which produces maize flour. In Uganda, he is the director of B24TV.
