Marc Cucurella now expected to join Chelsea in £50m deal as talks with Brighton accelerate

Yesterday went absolutely mad for Chelsea in the transfer market, and it was one of those days where a deal came out of absolutely nowhere and seemingly advanced so much in one day.

Chelsea fans woke up on Monday morning having no idea whatsoever about a pursuit to sign Brighton full back Marc Cucurella, having all assumed he would be off to Manchester City. Usually, when Pep Guardiola comes calling there is only one outcome. But City didn’t want to pay his asking price, and apparently, Chelsea do.

Craig Hope of The Daily Mail then reported his exclusive news that Chelsea were exploring a move to sign Cucurella. That was approx 19 hours ago (at the time of writing this). Then, just 10 hours later, the same source put out an update suggesting that after a day of positive talks, Cucurella is now EXPECTED to join Chelsea for £50m this window.

Talk about moving fast, this has been one of the fastest developing deals I’ve ever witnessed!
