Biography
Masautso Nkhoma (born March 17, 1986) is a Zambian hip hop and Christian hip hop recording artist.
He is widely known by his stage name Ruff Kid.
In 2012 he was best international act winner at the Beffta Awards. He debuted in 2000 with his single Wekatemwikwa.
Early Life
Masautso Nkhoma aka Ruff Kid was born March 17, 1986 in Lusaka and raised on the Cooperbelt.
He become a rapper at an exceptionally youthful age as a way to get away from destitution. His adoration for rap music was utilized by individuals like Tu-pac Shakur.
Career
He began his career/vocation in 2000 when he delivered his first single “Wekatemwikwa”. The record was a prompt achievement procuring him the number 1 spot on the African global music outlines on Channel O, on the Urban Massive show.
His second studio album Matured was later released under Joe Chibungu. The album was successful compared to the last one, as he toured South Africa and also performed along side big African names like Kabelo, Oliver Mutukuzi, Yvone Chakachaka, Jozi, Zola, etc.
In 2006 his third album Most Wanted was released. The album had hits like the infamous “Bwete”, “Mwechilibwe”, and the “most controversial “chikalalila” which was produced by Raydo.
In 2007 Ruff kid won multiple awards namely the Born and Bred Award for Best Hip-hop video, CBC Music video Award, Radio Awards.
