Tim Godfrey is a Nigerian gospel vocalist. He is most famous for his song Nara in a joint effort with Travis Greene. He is the pioneer and proprietor of the record label Rox Nation and the Founder of Xtreme Crew.

Tim Godfrey Early Life

Timothy Chukwudi Godfrey was brought into the world on the 26th day of August in 1980 to the Family of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Godfrey in Kaduna, Nigeria. He is the second born of his parents, with six (6) children. Tim Godfrey had his primary education in Kaduna, Nigeria, even though Tim Godfrey hails from Abia State. He got an Honorary Doctorate certificate in Fine Art and Musicology at the Trinity International University of Ambassadors, Georgia, the USA, in 2018. This superstar, Tim Godfrey, started singing when he was a kid living in Kaduna. He spent most of his days as a youth singing in his church choir in Kaduna. People see him as a Nigerian version of Tyre Tibbet and Kirk Franklin. His gospel music genre held no competition then, so he started dropping hit tracks. He developed his skills to become a musical director and voice instructor and has had that for many years. Before the superstar made singing his career, he was a footballer. He is the manager and founder of a gospel band called “Tim Godfrey and the Xtreme, “a Crew Christian musical group. Tim Godfrey’s first step into stardom was in 1994 when he became a director of his church choir. While he was a choir director, he trained choristers from different churches. He commenced his music career professionally on the 14th of February, 2004. The music superstar founded the Xtreme Crew music group in 2004. Since then, he has been creating good music with the crew. They focused more on evangelizing while they traveled places to perform Gospel concerts and shows all over Nigeria and Africa. They have gone to over 1000 events and concerts within and outside the country. In 2005, Tim Godfrey and his crew performed on the same stage with Sammie Okposo, Sunny Neji, and Folake Omusen at the Kora Awards in South Africa. Then in 2006, they performed at the Ghana Music Awards and toured five American States. A UK-based music Company organized the tour “Set Him off Music Ministries. ” Since 2016, Tim Godfrey has been a regular feature at the Experience concert. The annually fearless Worship Concert was started In 2017 by the crew. In the same year, He bought cars worth over 20 million for his five most extended crew members. He did show solidarity and strength in Unity. The crew also went to the “Xperience,” a musical concert organized by “The Rock Cathedral” yearly. He has worked with Travis Greene (an American gospel musician), Nathaniel Bassey, and other well-known gospel artists. In 2018, Tim Godfrey featured Travis Greene in the breakout hit song Nara, which has earned over 60 million views on Youtube. In 2019, he featured Israel Houghton on the single Toya and collaborated with JJ Hairston on the single Onaga off the latter’s album. Tim Godfrey is the convener of the annual Fearless Gospel Concert, which has hosted several international gospel artists, including Marvin Sapp, Kirk Franklin, Travis Greene, Israel Houghton, JJ Hairston, Sammie Okposo, and others.
