Career
Though Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba started his career as an architect, he has been in government since 2009, when he was announced as part of the new reshuffled ministers after the re-election of Denis Sassou Nguesso. He was appointed as the Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy, Pierre Moussa, in charge of regional planning and integration. His appointment is in line with his profession as an architect.
An architect by profession, Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba is the son of former minister Pierre Ngouonimba-Nczari.
September 15, 2009, on the occasion of a ministerial reshuffle following the -election of Denis Sassou-Nguesso, he entered the government by being appointed Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy Pierre Moussa, in charge of regional planning and integration.
During the 2012 legislative elections, he was a candidate for the Union of Democratic Forces (UFD), a party belonging to the presidential majority, in the district of Djambala ( Plateaux ), where he was elected in the first round with 61.57 % votes. He officially takes office on September 5.
On September 25, 2012, he became Minister of Tourism and the Environment. In this position, he tries to develop ecotourism in the Republic of Congo, in particular by developing a National Strategy in 2015 as well as a Master Plan for the Sustainable Development of Tourism, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
In April 2015, he was elected President of the UFD at the end of the first extraordinary congress of the party held in Sibiti ( Lékoumou ), thus succeeding Martin Ntsiba
On April 30, 2016, he became Minister of Road Equipment and Maintenance in the Mouamba Government.
Candidate for his succession in the 2017 legislative elections, he was re-elected in the first round in Djambala with 75 % of the vote.
On the occasion of a reshuffle, he was appointed Minister of Construction, Urban Planning, and Housing in the Mouamba II government on August 22, 2017. The transfer of power from his predecessor, Claude Alphonse Nsilou, took place on August 29.
