Ivan Moody tattoos
Ivan, the lead singer of Five Finger Death Punch, is well recognized for having multiple tattoos that, in his words, have significance. His two largest tattoos are images of development and rebirth on his skull.
He states that his tattoo of a phoenix represents a year of abstinence.
Ivan L. Moody also has a snakeskin Mohawk tattoo on his head, representing shedding his skin after three days in a coma, during which he was technically dead for two minutes.
Unable to recognize himself after emerging from the comma, he got the tattoo, which motivated him to become the man he has always wanted to be and is capable of being.
His arms are also stuffed with artwork for the Spawn comic book series and a skeleton ode to The Misfits, his favorite band as a youngster.
Ivan Moody Legal arrest
On February 22, 2014, Moody was detained by the Australian Federal Police in Sydney on suspicion of assaulting a female flight attendant while intoxicated on a Qantas flight from Brisbane. He wasn’t there when the band played in Sydney and Melbourne.
Moody was detained on April 21, 2015, in Las Vegas and was later charged with domestic violence by strangulation. Based on a report of domestic abuse against Holly Smith, Moody’s partner of 17 years, the police were called to Moody’s hotel room.
According to the police complaint, Moody repeatedly punched Smith before suffocating her with a jiu-jitsu hold while yelling, “I’m going to fucking murder you!”
Smith was discovered with obvious wounds and scratches at the back of her throat where a blanket had been jammed.Moody was released after posting a $15,000 bond.
Despite dismissing the battery charges in July, Smith nevertheless sought a restraining order. In August, Smith filed for divorce with documentation of a pattern of ongoing physical violence, including images of her bleeding eye and broken blood vessels.
Moody’s mother and sister, Sandra Dykes, obtained restraining orders against Moody, it was reported in August 2015.
Dykes alleged that Moody has a “history of violence with women” and filed the restraining order after Moody accused her, his mother, and his daughter of stealing money from him.
